Nihad Taisir Nadam contributed Arabic calligraphy work for the book jackets of the Library of Arabic Literature, a major publishing initiative dedicated to bringing classical and pre-modern Arabic texts to contemporary readers through authoritative Arabic editions and English translations.

The first Library of Arabic Literature titles were announced in 2013. In the official announcement, the Library of Arabic Literature acknowledged the calligraphers Joshua Berer and Nihad Nadam for their work on the jackets.

Digital Arabic calligraphy artworks created using Tasmeem software fonts

In September 2011, Nihad Taisir Nadam participated in The Fourth International Symposium: Printing and Publishing in the Languages and Countries of the Middle East, held at the Calligraphy Center, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt.

As part of the symposium program, he presented a paper titled Digital Arabic Fonts: Beginnings and Evolution, addressing the early development of digital Arabic type and its relationship to Arabic calligraphy, publishing, and visual communication.

Alongside the symposium, Nihad presented an exhibition of artworks produced using fonts from the Tasmeem software, exploring how Arabic calligraphy could move from traditional manual practice into a digital design environment while preserving its visual richness and cultural character.

This was one of the earliest exhibitions, and possibly the first, dedicated to artworks created with digital Arabic calligraphy. The exhibition reflected an early stage in Nihad’s long-term work at the intersection of Arabic script, design technology, and contemporary visual culture.
