Nihad Taisir Nadam contributed to the design and production of promotional and marketing materials for the fourth edition of the Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries. Between March 2013 and May 2014, Nadam collaborated with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sharjah on activities focused on digital Arabic calligraphy, Arabic letterforms, and computer-based calligraphy tools.

The programme culminated in the “Be Beautiful” exhibition, presented in May 2014 as part of the sixth Sharjah Calligraphy Forum. The exhibition included 23 student works together with works by Nihad Nadam, Dr Manar Abu Talib, and Professor Ashraf Al-Najjar.

The Library of Arabic Literature’s official announcement of its first titles thanked calligraphers Joshua Berer and Nihad Nadam for their work on the jackets. Nadam’s contribution placed Arabic calligraphy within a consistent contemporary publishing system designed to present classical and pre-modern Arabic literature to modern readers.

In September 2011, Nihad Taisir Nadam participated in the Fourth International Symposium at Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The official programme documented his paper, Digital Arabic Fonts: Beginnings and Evolution, which examined the early development of digital Arabic type and its relationship to calligraphy, publishing, and visual communication.

Alongside the symposium, Nadam presented artworks produced using fonts from the Tasmeem software, exploring how Arabic calligraphy could operate within a digital design environment while retaining its visual and cultural character.

Based on Nadam’s professional knowledge and direct participation, this was among the earliest—and may have been the first—exhibitions dedicated specifically to artworks created with digital Arabic calligraphy tools. The event programme and photographic material retained with this record document his participation.
