Nihad’s digital Arabic calligraphy compositions of Emirati proverbs were exhibited in connection with The Heritage of Popular Expressions: From One Language to Another. The event brought the discussion of language and cultural heritage into dialogue with its visual expression.
The workshop was organised by Dr. Almoatasem Alrahabi, with Dr. Rashed Mazrooei participating. The event poster identifies Nihad’s contribution as the accompanying calligraphy exhibition.
Nihad’s digital Arabic calligraphy was exhibited alongside student work in “Be Beautiful” at the University of Sharjah. Held in the context of the sixth Sharjah Calligraphy Forum, the exhibition brought Arabic compositions from the screen into a shared public space.
Through a seminar and two practical workshops with the Department of Computer Science, Nihad introduced participants to digital Arabic calligraphy and the tools used to develop Arabic compositions. The sessions combined demonstrations with hands-on work in the computer lab.
Nihad led a hands-on digital Arabic calligraphy workshop, introducing participants to creating Arabic compositions on their own computers. The session combined a visual introduction with practical guidance as participants worked with digital tools.
Nihad presented Digital Arabic Fonts: Beginnings and Evolution at the Fourth International Symposium on Printing and Publishing in the Languages and Countries of the Middle East.

Nihad’s professional workshop participation at Tasmeem Doha focused on Arabic typography and digital design tools. The conference programme included WinSoft Tasmeem 5 and Adobe design sessions within the theme “Synapse: Designer as Link.”
